Prospect and Refuge is a lifestyle brand centered on connection through food, conversation, and shared experience.The name comes from a concept in environmental psychology described by Jay Appleton, who observed that people are most at ease in places that offer both prospect—a sense of openness and possibility—and refuge—a feeling of safety and shelter.This pattern extends beyond physical spaces. Careers oscillate between building new skills and deepening expertise. Relationships alternate between discovery and devotion. Even fitness balances pushing limits with recovery. Life moves in cycles where we shift between chapters of exploration and chapters of consolidation.
